Looking back at my posts over the past two years or so, you might say that I have a bit of an obsession with Adam Broitman. You'd be wrong, but you could say it. We just happen to travel in the same circles -- we show up at many of the same events, speak at the same conferences (often on the same panels), and have been doing similar work in emerging channels and social media albeit for different companies.
These similarities have led some to speculate that we may, in fact, be the same person, despite the fact that we have been seen in the same room on more than a few occassions (as the photographic evidence proves - including the March 2007 shot above.)
Put it all together and what do you get? A Broidino -- half Broitman, half Verdino, all marketing innovation goodness with a shiny bald veneer. Creepy? Sure. A potent combination? Of course!
So it is with great pleasure (although not pleasure so great that it would make anyone uncomfortable) that I welcome Adam to the crayon team as our new Director of Strategy & Ringleader -- the latter portion of his title is a nod to his popular A Media Circus blog of course (cuz, Adam, let's be frank -- we all know who cracks the whip around here.)
Adam will work closely with me, Jaffe, Jane Quigley and the rest of the crayon team to craft smart, strategic solutions to our clients' marketing challenges. I am excited to see what happens when two bald-headed strategy guys finally join forces to kick old marketing's hairy ass.
As a side note, I might add that -- unless I am mistaken -- this "merger" would have made crayon the baldest social media agency in the world, if we were actually a social media agency that is. But since we're strategic consultants and not agency types at all (and for that matter aren't specifically focused on social media - are you still laboring under the impression that 'conversation' only happens in the blogosphere or on Twitter?), please be advised that that particular superlative is up for grabs. Anyone? Anyone?
Please join me in welcoming Adam aboard.
