Today, I shared the PodcampNYC stage with Joseph Jaffe, Mark Wallace, John Swords (SL: Johnny Ming) and Adam Broitman. And now I'm sharing some video, photos and Second Life snaps with you.
The Video. You can watch our entire "social media convergence and virtual worlds" session here -- video courtesy of PodcampNYC and TV Worldwide. In keeping with our theme of social media convergence, watch as five bloggers/podcasters snap pictures, check email and respond to twitters throughout the entire 45 minute session. Oh, and we manage to squeeze in time for a smart statement or two about the state of social media and virtual worlds.
The Photos. You can find the entire set on Flickr, but here are two to whet your appetite.
Jaffe and me, looking surprisingly awake at 8:00 on a Saturday the morning.
From left to right: Broitman, Swords/Ming, Wallace, Jaffe and me.
The Sim. And what discussion about virtual worlds would be complete without some mixed reality? PodcampNYC has a traveling circus-themed Second Life presence (SLURL here.) I visited the sim when I got home from the real world event, hoping to find our video streaming into the metaverse, but it wasn't up yet. So I just cruised the sim and grabbed a few snaps. They're all in the Flickr set, but here's one shot of my main avatar, Jiggy Stardust, chilling out on the steps of the Podcamp main tent.
