UPDATE: Chris has updated his post at New Media Spin to include proper attribution. As I wrote in my post below, I was sure Chris meant no harm and, sure enough, it was an oversight and he made quick amends. Thanks so much Chris - I knew we would get through this. :-) Ever forward.

Check out my post from January 19th. And then check out Chris Redlitz's post at New Media Spin on January 21st. Look familiar? I don't mind being quoted. It happens all the time. In fact, citation of my posts by other blogs and mainstream media is total goodness. But is usage without attribution fair game now? I appreciate Chris's interest in spreading my ideas and am happy to see that I've made his blogroll, but flattery only gets you so far. Fair use under Creative Commons -- or even just in keeping with the basic (if unwritten) blogger code of honor (something like "do unto fellow bloggers as you would have fellow bloggers do to you" or "if you use my stuff, give me some link love") -- gets you further.
If I were one of Chris's regular readers, I'd assume that the words and ideas in his January 21st post were his. Now, I know Chris and I am sure he means no harm. But do you see why I might have an issue with this?
