I suppose the better question is, "where am I not?"
This week I head to Detroit for client meetings, Chicago to moderate a media & marketing panel discussion at the Digitas office, and finally Boston for some internal meetings. So if it seems like my posts are few and far between this week, now you know why...
From a blog-worthiness standpoint, Chicago is the key stop on my whirlwind tour. The panel that I'm moderating will be held Thursday afternoon at the Digitas Chicago office (David Armano's home base), and it has been hyped to our Chicago team like this:
"Looking Back. Looking Forward. As we wrap up 2006, we are hosting a panel of online marketing experts, representing various opinions and perspectives on the digital/interactive space. Topics will range from the biggest online breakthrough of 2006 to predictions for the digital world in 2007 and beyond.
By marrying the expertise of Digitas and other experts in the field, we hope to foster an engaging discussion and spark new ideas that will help shape our day-to-day work and strategic thinking today and into the New Year."
I'll be discussing the current and future state of online marketing with panelists from Google, Doubleclick, MTV and Specific Media. I'll be sure to share any good thoughts here -- and I'm sure there will be many. Any time you get a group of industry experts with diverse backgrounds into a room, the ideas just have a way of flowing. I think it will be a good, lively discussion and I'm really looking forward to it (and to my first visit to our Chicago office.)
Word is that Armano is planning to snap photos and blog about the panel over at Logic+Emotion, and is hoping to gather a few other Chicago bloggers to write about it too. So no pressure. :-) Armano and I also plan to grab a few drinks and perhaps (PERHAPS) record some kind of marketing podcast (after the drinks and at the bar, of course - he swears that this approach worked for him and Jaffe a while back, so why not.)
