Yesterday, CK's Halloween post included this tidbit: "the #1 children's costume this year for boys is Johnny Depp-inspired Pirate Captain Jack. For girls it's a tie between Tinkerbell and Cinderella. All three characters were manufactured by the house of mouse."
Having spent Halloween itself at Disney's Magic Kingdom (if you're a regular reader you probably know that I'm on vacation this week, so yup I'm down at Disney World), I can personally vouch for the accuracy of this statement. I've seen more pint sized Captain Jacks than I could count. Well, here's another curious tidbit of Pirates of the Carribeana -- Johnny Depp (in character and in Audio-Animatronic form, of course) now makes not one, but THREE, appearances (one of which is a SPEAKING ROLE) within the Pirates of the Carribean ride that actually insired the movies in the first place.
It is all a bit surreal, but it certainly cuts down on the "who's that guy on the t-shirt" questions lobbed at Disney-dazed parents by their little hardies.
