So it would seem that yet another meme-game is spreading through the marketing blogosphere -- "Eight Random Things About Me." This one seems awfully similar to the "Five Things You Don't Know About Me" game that made the rounds back in December. I'm kinda running out of deep dark secrets. And I'm getting worried that, come November, we'll be passing around a "Thirteen Things I Won't Even Admit To Myself" meme.
This time around, I've been tagged not once but twice -- by my friend Valeria Maltoni (whose thoughtful post convinced me that this type of game actually does serve a useful purpose) and again by Nathan Snell who, unless I'm mistaken, I don't actually know. Oh, the tangled web 2.0 we weave.
So without further ado (brace yourself), here are my Eight Random Things About Me (without any repeats from my previous "Five Things" post):
- I went to a Catholic high school but attended nursery school at the town Jewish Center.
- I am a huge KISS fan -- my wife and I even traveled clear across the country to see them kick off their Psycho Circus tour in Los Angeles.
- Yet, I have Justin Timberlake's Futuresex/Lovesounds on my iPod.
- I've been to Paris once. While I was there, I was chased down the Champs-Elysees by a police officer -- to this day, I'm not sure why but I think it was for eating a sandwich while sitting on the sidewalk.
- I got a speeding ticket at Disney World. Not driving to or from Disney World -- on actual park property. How lame is that?
- I've hung out with Larry the Cable Guy in a VIP room at Radio City Music Hall. It's not as glamorous as it sounds -- unless you don't think it sounds glamorous at all, in which case it is as glamourous as it sounds.
- I accidentally set a menu on fire at swanky restaurant Aureole in the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas.
- I've fainted twice -- once on an airplane and once in a public restroom.
So now, in a dirty blogger trick, I'd like to tag eight seemingly random authors that contributed to The Age of Conversation. Why not? Roberta Rosenberg, Steve Woodruff, C.B. Whittemore, Jim Kukral, Connie Reece, Nick Rice, Arun Rajagopal and Amy Jussel. It's your turn -- play along if you feel up to it.
