Update: Good, detailed coverage of the Brightcove public launch over at TechCrunch.

Yesterday (on a Sunday?), Jeremy Alliare's high profile broadband video start-up Brightcove moved beyond its private beta phase and announced the general availability of the Brightcove Network and, along with it, its open syndication marketplace for video. The open source video syndication model is also being pursued by NBC Universal's NBBC as well as Brightcove competitor (and my former employer) ROO, among others.
